KLIK! will be at FMX, hope to catch you there!
sun 15 April 00:00

Our creative director Yvonne van Ulden will be spending May 8 till 11 at FMX, a yearly conference on animation, effects, games and transmedia. Yvonne isn't hard to recognize with her red hair, and a klikker hanging around her neck of course, so it'd be nice to catch you there!

FMX takes place in Stuttgart, Germany, and is all about the newest technical stuff in animation, from hand-crafted stop-motion to fancy mocap methods. Big names from Ice Age 4, Arthur Christmas and The Pirates! will be revealing their secrets through a series of presentations. But next to sitting through talks, you can also get up and loosen up at the workshop 'Acting for Animators' by Ed Hooks. Then there's also a whole day on producing animated featurefilms in Europe, a program on what directors expect from VFX, and parties to end every day with.

Actually, there's just too much interesting stuff to sqeeuze into the few days the festival will be there. You can dig through the complete program at the website of FMX.

See you there!

(The picture on the left is of last year's FMX, by photographer Reiner Pfisterer. But we must admit that we secretly put a klikker in there, as inspired as we were by Waldo - so can you find it?)

Ready, set, GO! Call for Entries for KLIK! 2012 is now open!
thu 15 March 00:00

Calling all animators from all over the globe! The KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival is eager to gather the latest harvest of short animated films for its competitions, so send in those puppies!

Films are eligible when the submitted film does not exceed 25 minutes and was finished after January 1st, 2010. For more regulations, read our Terms and Conditions. Submit your film online via our Submit a film page. Keep an eye on the deadline: June 1, 2012. If you'd like to be reminded of our Call for Entries a month before the deadline, you can subscribe to our newsletter.

*NEW* KLIK! Special Competition
Besides our regular competition categories, we now present the brand new KLIK! Special Competition. With this competition we will focus on a different aspect of animation during every edition, and our first focus is on the stereoscopic animated short. While the amount of stereoscopic feature-length films in the cinemas is fairly abundant, independant stereoscopic shorts are rarely shown in cinemas. So send in that eye-candy and show the world what can be done in stereoscopic cinema other than throwing random stuff in the viewer's face!

Don’t forget to decorate your envelope!
We have a longstanding tradition of decorating a wall during the festival with received envelopes from the call for entries. We've seen some awesome decorated envelopes in the past years, and because pretty decorated envelopes make us happy, this year there’ll be a price for the prettiest one of all! So bring it on!

KLIK! 2012
The 5th edition of the KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival will take place from the 7th until the 11th of November in its spectacular new location: the EYE Film Institute!
